I’m An addict

Standard

Yes, I freely admit that I’m addicted and I’m sad to say my source my be drying up. Every morning for the past two years I get up and turn on my computer. I check my email to make sure I haven’t missed a letter from a publisher concerning the next great novel, “Dobyns Chronicles”. Then I’m off to Farmville to get my days farming done.

I have no idea what got me started doing Farmville but it didn’t take long to get me hooked and I really can’t understand why. I miss it if I don’t do it and I worry about all my crops wilting. I really do have a life and it’s a good one. How can a brainless game like Farmville get a well-educated, well-rounded, woman, as myself to get hooked.

Could Farmville actually be used as a test for addictive personalities? If Farmville snags you, then you have the potential for other things to become addicting, such as Bingo.

Yesterday I read in one of my favorite magazines”The Week” how Zynga is not holding their own in the cyber world and could be on the way out. That got me to thinking what I would do if Farmville and the other Zynga games disappeared. I’m sure I’ll find something to fill the void. Maybe more writing. The end of Farmville could be the beginning of the next great American Novel. Do you have any silly addictions?

Have a great day and blessings to all.

  1. For about a week I spent many hours playing ‘Bejeweled.’ Now I understand how someone can be addicted to a computer game. I had too much other pressing work and couldn’t afford the time, and I got tired of it too, but I am glad that I had the chance that experience to better understand the appeal of it. It is a wonderful escape from everything else, even if only for the moment.

  2. Hi Naomi, thank you for stopping by and your comment. Games can certainly take you away from work to be done. I enjoy Bejeweled also but I don’t play it very much. I hope you enjoy my blog and have a blessed day.
